BREAKING: Former Jigawa Governor Sule Lamido Granted Bail

Former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido has been granted bail by a magistrate court sitting in Dutse.

The former governor was tried for allegedly inciting his supporters to violence over the forthcoming local government elections.

The court granted Lamido Bail based on own recognizance.

The magistrate ruled that the charge against Lamido, of inciting violence, was bailable. (There is) no evidence before the court that if the accused person his granted bail he will jump bail and no evidence other people will commit similar offense and that the accused will jeopardize peace of the state,”
