Buhari’s Friend ‘Dambazau’ Caught In Crossfire Of Corruption

The paper alleged that Dambazau was taking N1b monthly from salaries of the Nigerian military as COAS.

Minister Dambazau is a retired Nigerian army Lieutenant General. He served as army chief between 2008 and 2010, succeeding Lieutenant General Luka Yusuf.

General Tukur Buratai, the incumbent army boss, was accused of illegal diversion of military funds to purchase two properties in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

However, Buratai denied all allegations.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has been under pressure to commence investigation into how Tuku Buratai acquired the Dubai mansions.

There had also been calls by Nigerians including Femi Falana, a prominent lawyer,for Buratai to resign or that the president should sack him for acquiring the mansions allegedly worth $1.5 million.
