Dr. Abdulkareem Abdulrahman Is Not Dead Yet – NMA

The Nigerian Medical Association has dismissed reports that a member of the association, Dr. Abdulkareem Abdulrahman, who was declared missing in July, was dead.
The Kwara State branch of the association, said this in a statement on Monday in Ilorin.

Dr. Victor Iroha, the NMA Secretary in the state, said the reported killing of the doctor was yet to be confirmed by security agencies working on the case.

Iroha said the official position of the agencies remained that the case was still ongoing.

He explained that security operatives handling the case had informed the NMA that they had arrested some suspects who made useful statements.

Iroha said in the statement: “Following rumours and a media report on August 14 regarding the killing of the doctor, NMA has interacted with the Kwara Police, SSS and family of the doctor today.

“The official position as at this time by all of these bodies remains that the case is still ongoing and arrested suspects have been making useful statements.

“This is the authentic official information.”
However, Iroha called for continued prayers toward the safe return of the medical doctor.

Abdulrahman, 34, is a medical doctor at the Omu-Aran General Hospital and was declared missing on July 24 by the NMA.
