Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, today led old students, Teachers and students of Saint Joseph’s College, Ondo, his Alma Mater, on a 7km walk round Ondo city.
The walk was part of activities to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Saint Joseph College, Ondo.
The exercise which was tagged “Let’s walk to school” kicked start from Governor Olusegun Mimiko’s house at 8:30 am through Mimiko’s Way to Lover Boy to Yaba to Surulere to Lisaluwa through Ife Round About down to Saint Joseph’s College.
The walk to school which almost took the form of a mini rally attracted the attention of Ondo residents popularly called the “Ekimoguns” – waving to their son and chanting IROKO!!!
Addressing the old students, Teachers and students after the walk, Governor Olusegun Mimiko charged the old students of Saint Joseph’s College, Ondo to always contribute their quota to the development of the school.
He described the school as a great college and urged all old boys to join hands together to add more values to the school.
The governor said he was very excited to once again mix with the old boys, students and the teachers of the school, and urged the students to remain focus in their studies to be successful in life.
He thanked the staff and old students of the school for their pivotal roles and contribution in moving the college forward.
Highlights of the event was the commissioning of the school auditorium, newly built road and conveniences.
