The All Progressives Congress gubernatorial aspirant in Ondo state, Chief Jamiu Ekungba has urged all aspirants that vied for the just concluded APC primaries in the state to support the candidature of the party's flagbearer, Barrister Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) come November 26.

Ekungba, in a press statement, commend the Governor Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar led primary, says primary will remain a model for primary elections in Nigeria while also congratulating Akeredolu for his victory which he described as well earned.

"Today our great party A.P.C under the supervision of the Executive Governor of Jigawa State Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar had conducted what you will all agree with me was a near perfect process that will remain a model for party primary election in Nigeria. In this unique primary election, the flag bearer for our party has emerged in the person of Barrister Rotimi Akeredolu SAN.

I, Chief Jamiu Afolabi Ekungba, being a key contender myself accepts the verdict of the elections and congratulate Aketi on behalf of myself, the Big Idea family and the Sons and daughters of Owo kingdom on this laudable feat.

To everyone who vied for the ticket, Akeredolu's historic win was a wonderful experience as it confirms the truth in the statement that a victory earned is sweeter than a victory given".

Ekungba, however, urged the APC in the state to put all grievances aside and be united.

"As a party, we must see our task clearly before us and we must not let our clear sight be clouded by personal ambition. As we approach the November 26 contest all hands must be on deck: to awaken our potentials for the good of the land, henceforth the people should become the object of our longing.

And as a member of the Board of trustees of the party I wish to use this medium to call upon every member of the party at both the local and national level to come together, work and walk for the good of our people. This is a clarion call that we must all heed.

In the next few days, some of us would be approached to proffer what we have recognized that could add value to the governance of our people, please, oblige the party and our candidate

I am sure that neither the flag bearer nor the party leadership will allow any useful idea to go into the dust unused."

Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), who hails from owo was victorious in the APC gubernatorial primaries for the second time consecutively on Saturday 3rd, September. He first won the ticket in 2012 but conceded defeat to the incumbent governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko.

It however remained to be seen whether the 'change agenda' would extend to Ondo, the sunshine state come November 26 as Barrister Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) of the APC and Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) of the PDP vies for the most prestigious office in the state in an election I would tag the 'WAR OF THE SANS'.
