Pastor Paul Adefarasin of House on the Rock in Court Over Land Dispute

Pastor Paul Adefarasin and his church, House on the Rock yesterday asked an Igbosere High Court to hands off from a N800 million suit filed by a businessman, Gerald Chukwueke against him and his Church for allegedly trespassing on a land located in Lekki area of the state, as it lacks the jurisdiction to hear the case.

Adefarasin and the church are asking the court to dismiss the suit on the ground that it is not properly constituted as to vest jurisdiction in the court to hear and determine it.

The claimants, who are also asking for the sum of N180 million as fees,for their lawyers wants the court to bar the defendants from further trespassing on the disputed Land.

In the motion on notice, the claimants alleged that Pastor Adefarasin and his church sometimes in January 2016 repeatedly trespassed on their premises.

They are praying the court for an order directing the Lagos State Government and the Registrar of Titles, Lagos State Land Registry to revoke the Deed of third Party Legal Mortgage between Diamond bank and the Incorporated Trustees of the Rock Foundation.
