Let us start by analyzing what sexual immorality and violence means.  The concept of immorality is  broad so also is violence.
According to the  Macmillan English Dictionary, sex can be defined as the activity in which people kiss, and touch each other's sexual organs which may also include sexual intercourse.

Also according to the same source, violence is simply defined as involving the use of physical force with the deliberate intention of causing damage to property or injury or death to people which is against the laws, societal norms, conventions and moral principles.

There is the belief that someone who is violent often gets into fights and attack people. It  is also believed in some quarters that sexuality is one of the major features  of our civilization.

If we look carefully at the world today, especially at the Nollywood, Bollywood,Gallywood and the Hollywood movie industry which promotes obscene pictures and videos, we would actually believe that morality has been thrown to the dogs.

Apart from the above instances, many of our youths today  access explicit sexual scenes through pornographic sites, an act so rampant among teenagers and undergraduates.

Advancement in technology, which has brought about windows and android mobile devices has further worsened the situation.

Often times people purchase sex videos and pictures with their hard earned money. This act has its origin in the Americas before it crept stealthily into Nigeria and has generally been embraced by both old and young.

In the olden days, movies and pictures educate, inform, entertain people morally, academically, even spiritually at all levels and in all aspects of life but it is not so anymore in  our contemporary society.

In so much as the movie industry that ought to be the center of knowledge and chastity has been reduced to this ugly level of sex trade, what then should you expect of violence.

The government, at all levels should educate the show runners of the movie and music industry to portray and promote a good image. They should also try to make films suitable for all, irrespective of gender or age.

In conclusion, our world will be a heaven on earth if we can stop promoting explicit sex and violence and other atrocious deeds that can covert a good citizenry into a corrupt generation.

Children and minors should be adequately considered during movie productions both at home and abroad.
