This is what forecasters say to expect

Spring may get off to a snowy start in the Northeast on Sunday, but it won’t stay that way. The record warmth across the U.S. this winter will continue into the spring, increasing the likelihood that this year will be the warmest on record, according to projections from the federal government.

Nearly every population center outside of the South should expect higher than usual temperatures over the next three months. Those warm regions include the entirety of the East and West coasts and midwestern cities like Chicago and Cleveland, according to projections from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

The warm temperature projections come after months of record temperatures. Last year was the warmest on record across the globe, and February was the most unusually warm month ever.
