Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2017 AFCON U-20 tournament after a 5 – 5 aggregate with Sudan.

The Flying Eagles won the first leg 2 – 1 in far away Omdurman but Sudan defeated the Flying Eagles 4-3 in Lagos, to book a place in Zambia.

The implication for Nigeria is that the Emmanuel Amuneke side who graduated from the U17 having conquered the world in 2015, will not have a chance to play at the Fifa U20 world cup, since Africa’s representatives will emerge in Zambia.
