Senator Dino Melaye may find himself in trouble following calls by the forum of All Progressives Congress (APC) diaspora chairmen for the leadership of the Nigerian Senate or the appropriate institution to investigate the senator’s alleged threats of violence against Senator Tinubu.
According to The Nation, the forum in a statement said the alleged threat by Melaye to beat-up a female colleague in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria should be treated as a criminal case.
It stated that: “If found or proven to be a true report of what happened at the said meeting of the Senate, we call on Senator Melaye to tender unreserved apologies to Senator Tinubu, the Senate and the Nigerian people for dragging the integrity of the Nigerian Senator to such unwarranted mess.
“We hold the view that this said incidence is more worrying, if not embarrassing considering the ongoing investigation of the reported sex scandal reported by the America High Commission against some Nigerian parliamentarians during recent their leadership program in the USA.”
The forum warned that it will forward the press reports of the case against Melaye to all foreign missions and embassies with a request that the senator be denied visiting rights to those countries until he is cleared of the accusations leveled against him.
Meanwhile, Senator Dino Melaye has dismissed the allegation of using “insolent, abusive, degrading & unmannerless language against any Senator Remi Tinubu
Melaye made the denial at a press conference on Thursday, July 14 when he said he has never used abusive words on any senator.
