Boko Haram terrorists have again opened fire on the convoy of Babagana Zulum, Governor of Borno State.
According to Sahara Reporters the attack is coming barely 48 hours after the terrorist group
ambushed the governor’s convoy along Cross Kauwa-Baga Road,
and left over 30 people dead including 10 policemen and four soldiers.
According to some of the people who returned to Maiduguri on Sunday evening from the tour,
the convoy was fired at by alleged Boko Haram terrorists and Nigerian air force troops were quickly mobilized.
to the scene of the incident and were able to foil attack.
Baga town was displaced by the Boko Haram insurgents 21 months ago, with most of the residents taking refuge in Monguno and Maiduguri.
Zulum was on an assessment tour of Baga in preparation for the return of thousands of residents displaced from the town by the jihadists in 2014.
