I Beat My Son To Death For Stealing Phones – Father

A 37-year-old father, Rasak Adekoya has been detained for allegedly beating up his 10-year-old son, Wariz, to death, for stealing  mobile phones at a party.

Adekoya, who explained to men of the Ogun State Police Command that he didn’t intend to kill his son, said his son brought shame to him by stealing mobile phones at a party, as well as money belonging to his stepmother.

Punch reports that there were several marks on the victim’s body as a result of series of torture from the suspect.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state,  Abimbola Oyeyemi, said “The corpse has been deposited at St. Joseph Catholic Hospital Mortuary, Oke-Agbo, Ijebu-Igbo, for autopsy.

“As soon as investigation is concluded, the suspect will be arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction.”

Adekoya is currently being detained at the homicide department at the state police headquarters,  Eleweran,  Abeokuta.
