Creature On Land That Lacks Predators (Komodo Dragon)

The Komodo Dragon (Varanus komodoensis), have no natural predators besides themselves, through cannibalism.

Reaching up to 10 feet in length and more than 300 pounds (over 136 kilos), Komodo dragons are the heaviest lizards on Earth.

They are the apex predator in their environment, hunting and feeding on animals much larger than themselves, pigs, goats, deer and even horses and water buffalos (the last two, introduced by humans in their habitat).

The only creature a small Komodo dragon will fear is another larger Komodo dragon.

But humans have destroyed their habitat and hunted their prey, posing a serious threat.
