Donald Trump supporters got into a struggle with the police as they tried to gain access to the U.S. Capitol building. The were Congress meeting to certify President-elect Joe Biden’s election win in the November election.

Hundreds of protesters gathered in Freedom Plaza on Tuesday evening, January 4, a day before a congressional vote to affirm Joe Biden’s victory to protest and back Trump’s unverified claims of election fraud.
On Wednesday, demonstrators were seen clashing with U.S. Capitol Police and overcoming barricades to make their way into the Capitol building as Congress counts the Electoral College ballots inside.
Reports said congressional staff in the U.S. Capitol complex were ordered to evacuate two buildings, the Cannon office building for House members, and the Madison building, part of the Library of Congress, as protests intensified.
The clash kicked off after Trump told supporters that he would never concede the 2020 presidential election to President-elect Joe Biden.
