Inter Miami stricker, Gonzalo Higuain has ranked Robert Lewandoski, Karim Benzema and Erling Haaland above former teammates Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The former Argentine striker believes Messi and Ronaldo are currently nowhere near the three hottest forwards in Europe. Higuain and Messi played at international level together as the duo pair went as far as reaching the 2014 World Cup finals and two Copa America finals.
On the other hand, Higuain and Ronaldo were teammates at Real Madrid and reunited at Juventus. They played against each other in the Champions League finals in 2017 and during Higuain’s loan spell at AC Milan. Higuain who recently joined Inter Miami in the summer believes Lewandowski, Benzema and Haaland are his best players at the moment.
Speaking to ESPN, he said: “Lewandowski, Haaland and Benzema are the best for me now. “Karim has been in the football elite for 12 years. Lewandowski scores everywhere. And Haaland is a great promise, he is a great forward.” When asked about Messi, Higuain replied: “Well, it’s magical. Everything seems natural to him. “He was born like that, Leo does everything effortlessly. This is what makes him unique.”
🗣️ "A great future. He surprised me."
🗣️ "There for a long time, in the elite for 12 years."
