Media personality Toke Makinwa has announced that she would be joining a peaceful protest against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad on Tuesday, October 13. Noting that Nigerians are going through so much already, the media woman stated that one day, she hopes to have a son and it will never go down well with her if his looks cost him extortion or prison
Toke went on to urge people to come out in huge numbers on Tuesday. She encouraged Nigerian youths to come out and march observing social distancing, in unity, and with one voice.
According to her, it is time to change the narrative.
However, Toke told her followers not to wait for any celebrity to lead them on the protest. She noted that people are doing the best that they can and the essence of the protest would be invalid if people start to point fingers at those who did not come out.
For those wondering why I am taking this personal, I have a brother, I have heard of the atrocities, we go through so much as young Nigerians already, one day I hope to have a son and I’ll be damned if his looks cost him prison or extortion, Nigeria belongs to everybody #Endsars

Tuesday let’s come out peacefully, let the numbers say something, let us march observing Social distancing, in unity with one voice, imagine how powerful it will be if young Nigerians do this together, come out, peacefully protest and let’s try to change the narrative. Ok bye 👋

Don’t wait for your celebrities on Tuesday, don’t make it about who was and who did not, everyone is doing all they know how and it removes from the movement the moment we start gaslighting ourselves, you are a citizen of Nigeria, come out on Tuesday and let your voice be heard
