US Vice President Pence breaks silence on impeaching Trump.

It was recalled that the Vice President Mike Pence has finally spoken on impeaching President Donald Trump, in a letter to Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi.

This online news reported the Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other 238 lawmakers including some Democrats Senators have moved the motion for the impeachment of President Donald Trump, following the violent protest at the US capitol on Wednesday, January 6.

Trump had taken to his Twitter page currently banned by Twitter, on Tuesday, January 5, to announce his intention not to attend the inauguration of the incoming President, Jo Biden.

Reacting to his tweets, Pro-Trump protest stormed the US Capitol in aggression. Their protests led to the death of five people.

Since the violent protests took place, Pelosi had been calling on VP Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment of the US constitution which would lead to the removal of Trump as President by declaring unfit for the position.

On Wednesday, January 13, Pence has now reacted to the call, insisting that he would not seek the amendment in the letter addressed to Pelosi.

He labelled her demands “political games”.

Pence explained further that “Under our Constitution, the 25th Amendment is not a means of punishment or usurpation.

“Invoking the 25th Amendment in such a manner would set a terrible precedent.”
